Students from class ‘JC 460 Special Event Management’ organized media literacy activity for primary school children, held under the theme “Social Hero: Saving the World without Superhero Shield”. The activity aimed to offer knowledge and comprehension about social media on both ends as a receiver and sender. It aspired that the children would become social media literate and be able to use it appropriately.
The student representative said, “This activity speaks through a hero because children look up to hero as someone who save the world, he’s also a protector, and a role model. You can compare a hero to a social media literate person who is able to identify different types of media and understand the effect of the messages they’re sharing. Someone who know how to create and pass along positive messages to others. Those are social media hero.”
